Assalam-o-alaikum Ustazah,

This ayah stood out today:
36. and follow not (O man i.e., Say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which You have no knowledge (e.g. one's saying: "I have seen," while In fact He has not seen, or "I have heard," while He has not heard). Verily! the hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those You will be questioned (by Allâh).


Allah’s command in this ayah can’t be fulfilled without Taqwa.

The most common means of communication today is “The Internet” and as soon as one opens the browser.....one is faced with millions of so called “knowledge”, “news”, “information”, “research”...what not.... But hardly 1% is actually useful or needed.

The problem with information is that once we get it we have to share it....so if we get useless information, we share useless information. I like the term of old computer days “GIGO” “Garbage In Garbage Out.”

We can see Shaitan’s army mobilised even through the Internet. There is something for every person’s interest so that you click once.....and that’s it time is gone and so is life.

How can we protect ourselves from this bombardment of useless information?

Only if one
· Fears Allah
· Wants to please Allah
· Fears that he is accountable
· Has a purpose in life which does not let him waste time on useless matters

An idea could be to print this Ayah and stick on top of the monitor screenJ to keep reminding us so we do not waste our time/life and every time we see or read or listen or type something, we think twice.

May Allah give us the Taqwa to protect our eyes, ears, tongue, and heart from all the things that Allah dislikes.
