Dear Ustazah,

Assalamu alaikum,

Today ayahs 12&13 of surah Al furqan reminded me of the cast that I have to wear due to a fracture in my foot.

My foot was fractured a week ago. I was given a boot-cast to wear when walking is necessary. It is made of hard thick plastic, and has a padding inside that needs to be tightly wrapped around my foot. Another piece covers my foot from ankle to toes. Additional velcroes fasten around the foot and ankle and a small pump is used to fill in air in order to secure the foot in place. It gets very warm inside soon after I wear it.The heat increases often to the extent that it becomes unbearable. If I have started praying it is difficult to finish. I am desperate to take it off. Eventually I am able to do that and get some relief because it is only a shackle of Duniya.

I was thinking of the situation in the Akhirah where not only feet but hands will be tied as well. On top of that the place is suffocatingly tight. How hot it must be that those in it would wish to die. But alas,there will be no death to relieve the misery of the people in Hell fire. It will not be a boot-cast that can be taken off.

May Allah save us all from the hellfire. I find that since the start of Ramadan, listening to Dawrah Quran everyday is changing me. I feel I am in a car where I can see what is ahead of me, that is my akhirah and behind me in the rear view mirror, those are my athar. What is coming on my left and right is fitna, shaitan or simply trials. How I steer myself clear to reach my destination, that is jannah, is up to me. May Allah help me and all Muslims to achieve this goal, ameen.
