The ayat about the sun and the moon, in Surah Yaseen, always fascinates me...
The lesson I learned from these ayaat is that some people are like the sun... always on time and fulfilling the needs of people by their powerful presence... focused and determined, they can always be trusted to be in a specific spot at a secified time... reliable and pratical
and yet some other people are like the moon... no two days are alike... neither in form nor in timings... their impact is less practical and more on an emotional level... they fulfill the emotional needs of people... like the moon... filling us with wonder and happiness by its mysterious light... sometimes full and shining... sometimes withered and also making us sad when it disappears for days...
But then I thought that the moon and the sun have been programmed into this behaviour while we human being have been given an intellect and a choice... we can analyze ourselves and see which qualities are good and which are to be trimmed away... so we cannot just make excuses and say that we were "made like this" Rather Allah has given us both examples so that we can choose the best qualities from each of them and try to inculcate them in our personalities... to become the most benefical people... inshaAllah:)
